 Xp rebooting upon motherboard swop Post a Reply

I have changed the motherboard on my pc now my machine won't boot...I'm using winXP. I was told that I need to re-install xp...problem is, I don't know how....help

if you have a hp desktop you need to do a recovery by doing this you need to turn it on and start tapping the F10 key and follow the instructions. but before you do make sure that you have all of your peripherials unplugged you only want to have your monitor, keyboard and mouse plugged in. hope this helps but give it a try.

Insert the XP CD and boot it. If it doesn't boot to CD then hold the "del" key while booting to get to your BIOS settings and set it so that it boots from CD first, then the hard drive next. Follow the directions from there.
