i think you may be using unregistered verion of XP
problem arises only when u use internet
svchost.exe is closed (task manager process) to initiate the shut down

There are two variants. Blaster and Welcia. You definatley have either, so go on symantec and get the tool for both

I have the same problem, but in my hand I do not have the Blaster virus. My computer is really unstable and crashes alot! I do not know what my computers problem is. It has been like this since I bought it and tried to install XP. Does anyone know ehat my problem could be?

I get this problem to. i get this error message:

SYSTEM SHUTDOWN

X This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. Thins shut down was initiated by NY AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

Time Before Shutdown: 60 seconds

Anyways ive dled a couple patchs that were to fix this problem supposedly but halfway through them the patches automaticly shut them selfs down and ill have to start over...and again when its starts to install it will automatically cease to work again! Ill try what the person said above anhopefully i can be rid of this curse

You are infected with the Msblaster (or Lovesan, if you use viruscan) virus. you need to download and install a patch to fix the vulnerability on windows, and remove the virus. You get infected just by being on the internet, so the first thing you need to do, is to put a firewall, just while you install the patch (i used ZoneAlarm) The windows connection firewall also works.

i have same problem, mesage box comes up saying this all the time.
ps: windows re-install did not work
