PXE-E53 not found: wont boot to windows post Norto Post a Reply
From: AcedOuT2002 on 11/05/2003
A friend has a problem. His computer went "dumb" after rebooting from a norton antivirus definition update. The computer turns on, but wont boot to windows. It says that PXE-E53 couldnt be loaded, and commands to either retry the boot or check the setup (BIOS). his BIOS settings are correct, but it says it cant see the Hard Drive or the CDROM. He has a Dell Dimension. Looking at the past posts, I am sure that it is not set to network boot, although may look for one since it cant find the HDD. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My Dell Demension also failed to boot after downloading an updated Norton Anto-virus definition (on 3/15/04).
I also am getting the PXE-E53 message. I know less about it than the previous poster seems to know about their issue of 11/5/03. Any help to sorcerersworkshop@sbcglobal.net would be helpful. AcedOut2002, what did you do to resolve the problem, if I may inquire?
Thanks for anything,
