Dr. Watson in Excel Post a Reply
From: Jeff on 08/07/2003
Each time I try to open Excel 2000, I keep getting a Dr. Watson for Windows NT,
"EXCEL.exe

Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x30026d89"

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks this worked a treat for me too on Excel97 when getting 0x3003ffed crash. 2 years ago we had the same problem and the only work around was to rebuild the NT profile on the hardware!! THANKS GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works like a charm renaming the flat files from .XLB to .OLD and forcing Excell to create new ones.

Thank heaven for google. This fixed my problem which was exactly the same. I was a hair away from re-installing the OS after several re-installs of office.
