Computer shuts down when lauching games. Post a Reply
From: Rik on 06/06/2003
When I launch a game everything seems to be ok. Intro videos work, menus are up, but as soon as I try to play a level or start actual gameplay the computer instantly dies and I'm back at the BIOS booting up. I read somewhere that it was probably a direct 3d problem. (I have a Voodoo 5 running on XP so that's usually what I play games in) So I put in Half-Life and tried it in software mode. Sure enough it works. Funny enough when I first install a game and try running it in D3D everything works great. Soon as I shut down and turn the comp on later nothing works.

(Guess I'm just gonna buy a 9800 or GFX)
