When i got to shut down a window opens and states that it is closing system32.exe. When the progress bar gets to the end i get a message that the program is not responding and will be shutdown.

This bugs me cause it means i cant set my pc to shut down after a certain amount of time.

Chances are that windows is not giving the program enough time to close down. Windows allocates 20 secs to a program to let it close before windows actually closes down.

You can adjust the time given by windows to let a program close down....

You can edit the registry and input the following

Go to [Start] then [Run] and type in [Regedit]

Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value] // Value Name: AutoEndTasks
Modify/Create the Value Name [AutoEndTasks] according to the Value Data listed below.
Value Data: [0 = AutoEndTasks Disabled / 1 = AutoEndTasks Enabled]
Exit Registry and Reboot

This will force all programs to stop at shutdown...
