i'm using windows 98, and this error occurs sporadically when i'm using the internet, usually only once a day. the blue screen with this error comes up, and when i push a key, the screen goes black, with a row of green "cursors" across the top of the screen, and i have to do a hard boot to get it to restart. it's always this same code. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion Franky. I didn't even have directX installed on my computer, and since I downloaded it - I haven't had any problems (cross my fingers). Thanks so much!

I am getting the same error whe I try use my CD Burner. Is there any fix that ayone has heard of????

The same thing is happening to me. I have run several Norton tests, and it seems that when I run "find and fix" through Windows, I will get this error - as though this "trojan or virus" knows I am trying to fix it and I get the error message. Each time, Norton shuts down at: msword.setup.ink - Additionally, when I try to run Windows Explorer - I get the error as well, again like it knows I am trying to find out what is wrong. I logged on as a different user, have stopped using outlook and internet explorer. I get the same problem with both of those applications too. I am getting really irritated and don't want to have to take my cpu in to a tech. I am sure this could be fixed in dos somehow, but I am dos stupid...... help?
