A month ago an error in Explorer all of a sudden prevented me to access the desktop. A more literate friend of mine helped me reaccessing the desktop by switching Explorer 6 back to 5.5 (as you know Explorer cannot be completely uninstalled). Since then I have access to all programs but ferquently experience quite annoying mini-glitches. For example, often when I am online and wrote an email and hit the 'Send and Receive Mail' key in Outlook express I get an error message (see above) and I lose whateverI had written. That happens frequently, but not always. Further, if I am off-line in Outlook Express and want to get on-line and hit the 'Send and Receice' button the button gets stuck and the screen freezes. I have to hit Ctr-Alt-Del to terminate the task and reenter Outlook Express. When I reenter Outlook Express the 'Connect' window appears and allows me to go on-line.

How can I repair these annoying phenomena?
