Hi
In attempting to open the address book in Eudora 5.2, I received the "fatal error message".
On viewing the exception log, the following message appears:

Exception code: c0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION

The operating system is Win98.
Having thought that the MFC42.dll may have been corrupted,I copied the MFC42,dll from my works computer and pasted this into the system folder-this did not fix the problem.

I would appreciate any help with this problem.
Thanking you.

I was getting the exact same crash *constantly*. I defragged my drive thoroughly and I have not had a crash since (knock on wood). The defrag was only done about 2 hours ago but all seems well _so far_. :-)

Hopefully this does the trick.
