I don't have AOL, but anytime I start the computer and just leave it for about an hour, without doing anything on it at all, when I come back I have an Rndal error. What is causing this and how can it be fixed? I am operating on Windows 98.

I am getting the "Rndal" error message, and it is crashing windows everytime i start it, which means i can't get to the file and delete it, i really don't want to reformat because i have about 40 gigs of info on my *sigh unpartitioned drive (my fault). any ideas?

The error you are experiencing is to do with the real player part of your AOL installation. You can choose to delete the file and the real player will not update, you can remove real player cos ebryone thinks that it sux anyway, but if you do remove the file rndal.exe you may have problems with AOL. Try experementing by backing up the file and deleting it and then try to remove real player through add and remove proggies.

If you use a firewall setup the section which controls which files have access to the net and set that this offending file has no permissions to access the net...
