try defragging your vitual memory. first run a scan disk, then right click on my computer, go to properties, on the performance tab note how much ram you have, click on virtual memory, times the amount of your ram by 2.5 times, i.e., I have 128mb, so the number I came up with 128 x 2.5 =320, click on the circle "let me specify my own virtual memory settings." set the maximum to the 2.5 times your ram number. click ok, restart your machine then run a defrag. when it completes, reset the virtual memory to the "let windows manage my virtual memory settings." then restart again.

hope this helps.
