From: peggy on 02/17/2003
Have Windows98, COMPAQ Presario 5441. Previously had troubleshooting with Microsoft for two weeks fixing "The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??~PAXI@Z/. This problem was solved but it affected my AOL8.0. I could not open it and had to go through IE to check my E-mail. Still cannot open it.

Someone please post why you would want AOL in the first place, AOL is NOT the Internet!
You don't need AOL, and why would you want to install a whole bunch of SPYWARE, ADWARE and CRAPWARE crash all over the place junk just to access the net?
You don't need a whole bunch of software, it's already built in to windows! Uninstall AOL today! Ask for a refund!
Look in your phone book and find a Internet Service Provider (ISP), get a clue, spend way less money and quit being a sucker!

I have the same problem. AOL reaches the "starting AOL" message then proceeds to hangup. Sometimes doesn't start at all just CTRL ALT DEL and see that a bunch of waol.exe files are listed under processes tab.
