outlook express locks up when I try to open the IN Post a Reply
From: shannon on 02/08/2003
I can select Outlook Express from desktop or Internet hompage and it pops up in a new window. But when I try to read mail (select the "in box") the little "thinking" icon comes up and I can't do anything with Outlook. I can switch to explorer and all is fine, but I have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of outlook express. This happens after I end up fixing major problems, and it eventually (3 days to 4 weeks) fixes itself...maybe. ANy ideas? I have a DELL 8200 with WIndows Me and use AVG religiously (almost daily updates, man!).

Thanks
MIKO

I have this problem, too. However, my problem started AFTER I stopped using AVG. I am running Windows XP Home Edition. I am desperate to find a solution to this problem. Microsoft has been completely useless unless I am willing to turn over credit card information.

Hi

I too have experienced Outlook Express 6 locking up when running AVG. It's strange as I have had AVG for over 2 years. I loaded the system in SAFE MODE and OE worked fine. It turns out that AVG seems to conflict with OE 6 when running ME. I removed AVG using ADD/INSTALL programs in MY COMPUTER and re-installed AVG from www.grisoft.com

Anyone got any ideas out there???

Hi Shannon,

I am also facing the same problem, what we have in common here is AVG. I never had this problem till I started using AVG. Did you get a solution, if so let me also know.
