Windows protection errors OD in vxd Post a Reply
From: Gavin on 01/06/2003
I downloaded some programs to rip my dvd's and burn them to svcd's over the weekend. The programs were dvd2svcd and TMPGEnc. A force Aspi17 program too. I used an older nero to burn the cue images using daemon tools to read the cue. I burned the disks and everything was fine but when i shut down and restarted the next morning these error messages appeared: 0028 : 00000003 in vxd, 0028 : 00000004 in vxd, 0028 : C022EEDD in vxd, and 0028: C194AEF3 in vxd. I unistalled every program that i had downloaded in the past week and all of my burning software. I tried unchecking everything in msconfig. Scandisk. Reinstalling programs. Unlpugging my devices. Checking for conflicts. No matter what i do i can not cre my problem. Just safe mode. I have some important things that i hadnt backed up...Can any one help...Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

All I have to say is THANK YOU - this is the only thing I have found on the entire internet that told me what my problem was!! I have Nero CD burn and upgraded my Windows media player which has a burner program also! And got he same exact error - in the meantime I have had to clean my drive and reload Millenium twice!!!! I was convinced it was the virus software, but it just happened again without any virus software loaded.

Just wanted to say thanks!!

You probaly have a conflict with all your burning software. You may want to limit yourself to one software to do the DVD/CDRW burning. Roxio 5 is a very good solution and is not too expensive.

Try uninstalling all your CDRW/DVD R software and see if you still have the problem. If not, then install only ONE software back on your computer.

Is there anything after "VxD"?
