Error during WinME Setup -File name: VXDLDR(06) + Post a Reply
From: David on 12/30/2002
I began having difficulty starting the computer(P4, 256mb ram) using WinME. It seemed like it would hang or get error messages during startup. I performed an up to date virus scan with no problems.I performed successful scandisk and defrags with no problems. I tried to reinstall WinME and that appears to go well until the final steps where peripherals are detected. I disconnected everything. Removed all known unnessary software, all to no avail. I still get the same error:
File name: VXDLDR(06) + 0000136E Error: 0E : 0028 : C02CAA5A and the system hangs up preventing the completion of the WinME setup.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!

Actually, it could be your virus software that is causing the problem. For any given reason, I think the install is having problems working with your hard drive to get files on it.

To save a ton of time, I would completely FDISK, remove and reinstall partition, format, and try again. This should stop the error message.

If you are using a SCSI HDD, then you may need to check your settings, terminations, etc.

Hope this helps.
