Hey folks,

Your systems seem to have an automatic process running designed to
save a screenshot every few minutes. It's saving the shots to the
windows/shelltray/9 directory, and is creating an error because
either the directory is full (too many files, like over 29,000)
or because the filename already exits.

Solution, delete all the Jpg files in the directory. Should give
you another few months without the error...

Final solution, delete (or disable the jpg screenshot process) of
the parental control software that is probably running on your
computer system.

Good luck!

The error doesnt have anything to do with actually trying to view or save jpgs, it just pops up, randomly, no matter what you are doing, if you are doing anything at all.

I'm having the same problem as Tammy - this just started happening about a week ago - I AM NOT RUNNING ANY PROGRAM OR TRYING TO SAVE ANY .JPG FILE. However, that's what these messages refer to. It starts as soon as my machine is booted up (Windows ME). No applications have to be running to get the message. First get an error message "IJL ERROR [-10] - Failed to save to JPG" with "Intel[R] JPEG Library on the title bar. THEN, a second error message appears after you click ok to the last. It states, "Failed to save the picture to the file C:\WINDOWS\shelltray\9\s211_214552.jpg" the actual file name changes each time but the rest is the same. The titlebar on this message is "TestAOL7Extract". And yes, I've contacted AOL about this, which I do have, but they've never heard of the error. In fact, the error messages have popped up 3 times while I've been typing this message - and I don't have AOL running/open.

I am having the same problem and I run Windows ME. It started about a month ago, I am not sure exactly when. The first error message that comes up is IJL ERROR: (-10) - Failed to save JPG. I can click OK here and then another error comes up which says Failed to save the picture to the file 'C:\\WINDOWS\shelltray\9\S15_205002.jpg A few minutes after clicking OK on this part, the error windows start all over.

I think it happened when my kids were trying to download a picture from the web.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

We cannot help you with the information you have provided. Please include what program you are using to save a JPG image.

Just short advice, I would reinstall your program that you are using to view JPG images.
