Uninstalling Aol & Problem with mcutil32dll Fi Post a Reply
From: Carol on 11/06/2002
Hi ,
I have a friend who installed AOL and is having problems .No offence to AOL. She is running win98plus. I guess she uninstalled Aol but I`m not sure how because there are still lots of AOL files on her computer.Antway it`s not in the add/remove. I understand that she needs to rmove networkworking and reintall it. Ever since she intalled AOL she has been getting an error message as soon as she connects. Something to do with mcutil42dll file. Any help would be appreciated ...Thanks, Carol

AOL has an option during uninstall to save settings and other files. It will leave quite a few files on your hard drive. It is safe to say that after your friend removed AOL using the Add/Remove, you can delete the AOL folder on the hard drive.

Do you have McAffee installed on your Computer? You might consider reinstalling it to fix your problem with the mcutil32.dll file. This will work if you are not getting the error message that it is missing. If it is missing (or corrupt), you will need to reinstall the dll file.

Feel free to post back.
