explorer.exe crashes upon return to windows from o Post a Reply
From: brandon on 07/14/1999
almost every time i quit playing a game while online, explorer crashes with this message:

Explorer.exe has performed an illegal operation...

Explorer.exe caused a stack fault in module Kerner32.dll at 0157:bff741c7...
and then registers...

i'm running an amd k6-2 400mhz, win95 osr2.5, with the amd patch for above 250mhz processors. does anyone have a clue what is causing the crash? would a kernel upgrade fix it, or is my explorer just screwed up? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would upgrade to '98 anyway - but it sounds like the game needs a upgrade, if it always happens after you play that game, it sounds like it's trashing RAM memory when you play it and thus causes the crash.

Technically, it soulds like the stack is getting messed up by the game.

You should also scan for viruses with the latest virus checker since it sounds like you do a lot of downloading games off the internet.

Why not simply quit playing that particular game?
