You may have to remove your CD from windows (remove the drivers that access it), then restart and let it find it again like it was just installed new. Re-installing windows may be in order if things got really trashed.

: Ever since I uninstalled Virtuosa Gold trial version by Audiosoft my cd rom started acting funny...first it asks for c:/virtuosa.exe (which no longer exists) to play an audio. When it play it skips (the player is brand new! bought it 2 days ago), then as for mi Cd burner (wich is just as new) It doesn't seem to get audio tracks right and keeps making mistakes, because of the funny behavior of the cd rom I guess.
