Computer shuts down and restarts at random. (No paticular pattern). Soyo sy-5ehm MB, AMD350 CPU. Help!
All other cards and memory have been swapped out and tried different configurations. Power supply? Virus?

i have a dell latitude c800 and sometime it won't turn on and i have to wait a while. when it does turn on it will load to windows and i can use it for a while, but after a certain amount of time (veries) it will either restart or freeze and i have to wait a while again before i can use it.i have taken it to two different computer repair shops and they couldn't determine the exact problem. one couldn't find the problem at all. the second said it was either my harddrive or my ide controller. if it's my ide controller i may as well sell the thing for parts. but if that is the case.... wouldn't it not work at all???? if it's the harddrive wouldn't it not load to windows at all????? i'm confused and need help as well. the diagnostics didn't do anything and i'm too broke to buy a new computer... any help would be appreciated. thanks

have you tried to diognose your ram memory sometimes your computer shuts down cause of that.you could try to download a diognostic tool for the memory.try this if you have already tried everything,good luck.

computer will not shut down. I go to start menu, shut down and nothing happens. Please help me. 2.Lost My screen the other night. Callaed into support he ran me through and got into safe mode. rebooted put in back to normal mode and now I get error message DL_VIDEO.DLL Haven't tried anything yet. 3.My father was installing a TEOVideo Web Cam last Sunday morning. It was not functioning probably so my sister did some things to it, I do not know what. The computer went into Safe Mode and now the display settings are not recognized (so it prompts me, after boot up) and the computer appears to be in safe mode (font, color, etc wise) but it is not. I have tried just changing the display (monitor size and color) but the system will not allow me to do so. My father told me to check the autoexec.bat file(s). When I try to run that file (ms dos) I receive a fault. So I copied my sister's file (her laptop is the same as mine) and run hers on my system but that failed as well. I have uninstalled the TEOVideo program for now as well. What can I do to fix this problem, does it appear to be the display's problem, or a different driver. 4. I recently purchased a new PC (5wv254)Windows ME.Ihave had nothing but trouble.I've had to exchabge the tower because my CDRom was dead. With this tower I have problems staying connected.At first it wouldn't connect at all,so once again I calledCompaq. After being on hold for almost an hour, I finally reached a very nice person who helped me out.The final step was removing the side panel and pushing in on the modem card which was loose.
