 Help system crashes with VCACHE(01) + 000015A Post a Reply

I get this error message when trying to install new software usely when it hits the registry. I can not figure this out help please.
I'm running Windows ME
With an
AMD 1.4
Fic AN 11 MB
512 MB DDR
ATI RADEON VE
AND Soundblaster modem

I also try to install Win 2K
but kept getting an error message to turn off my cache
which i did and still got the same error message

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a VCACHE ERROR ? damn fatal exceptions
ok, ive found this solution to work for me, yes, ive had the problem and yes, i fix'd it on my machine...

Answer:

Disabling write behind caching for all drives before installation corrected this issue.

Details:

To do this
1. Click Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Performance | File System | Troubleshooting.
2. Then check off Disable write-behind caching for all drives.
3. Click on Ok then Close then select Restart the computer.

Try replacing your IDE cables and see if that helps. if not find someone who has a motherboard that will check your memory and see if it's going bad
