My computer crashes sometimes when I'm on the Internet. Sometimes I get these messages, 0E error or general page fault or a fatal exception has occured 0028:0000017 or a INF failure. It crashes very randomly but most of the time it just shuts down completely and reboots. Some days it won't crash for at all and then it will crash 5 times in one night. I am running Win 98 have a Rockwell 56K Soft modem, Genuineintel Pentium II proccessor have down graded to explorer 4.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doug

my computer crashes every couple of days and a note comes on the screen saying your computer has closed down to save your files but the note only stayes on screen for 100seconds and at the bottom it says dumping of rubbish can any one help .

My new Hewlett Packard Pavilion 513n running Windows XP home edition, Norton Internet Security (suspect this is related) etc. also crashes FREQUENTLY while on the Internet. Could send event logs to any kind soul willing to to try and solve this. I'm pulling my hair out and I'm a programmer/MCSE etc. and can't figure it out. HELP.

Your shutting down computer may well be that your processor is overheating. Try opening your case (if it doesn't nullify your guarantee) and leaving it open while you use it. If this stops the crashing, then you need a new heatsink and fan for your processor.

So, HOw do you fix this problem, I'm having the same problem. : If you are using McAfee Vsheild try shutting it off for a while on line. Also if you have dat file 4065 or 4066 there is an error on these dats that cause crashes. : : My computer crashes sometimes when I'm on the Internet.
