Winword crash due to MSVCRT.DLL error Post a Reply
From: Richard on 07/19/2002
When closing or saving a word document, I often get this message.

"Winword has caused an error in MSVCRT.DLL. Winword will now close."

Dell Computer, Windows ME

Can you suggest a remedy?

If you still have problems (and you will) try downloading this and installing it

You both probably have Works 2001 installed as well as Word 2000. This is usually not a great idea.

Please visit Microsoft's website:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q308511

You need to disable the module to read Works 2001 file in Word. This website will give you easy step-by-step instructions on how to fix this issue.

PS - you will be insured to get a response if you start a new post regarding your problem. It is harder to find a continuation of an old post. Thanks! Just trying to get to everyone's problems.
