: When playing games in excite i get the message the computer has performed an illegal function and will shut down.
: We have a Dell Dimension XPS 8733R-B Pentium III I am using Internet Exporer.

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at .


Windows NT 4.0

The instruction at "0x7c040bdc" referenced memory at "0x028bfd78."
The memory could not be "read."
Click OK to terminate the application.

CAUSE
These error messages can occur if you quit Internet Explorer after running a Java program.

RESOLUTION
This problem is fixed in Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1. For information about how to obtain Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
