Mediaplayer crashing - error 0028:00000009 Post a Reply
From: Stefan on 07/20/2001
Hi,

I've just installed the Windows Mediaplayer and it keeps crashing all the time. I get a fatal exception error at 0028:00000009 and somtimes a 0028:c187c34d every time I try to run Mediaplayer.

I've tried the Global DivX player too, but just get the same errors.

However, Realplayer seems to be working. I'm able to watch mpg's with Realplayer but NOT with Mediaplayer or Global.

I'm running Win98 on this computer and recently formatted and reinstalled everything.

Has anybody got a clue of what's going on?

Thanks,

Stefan

Does ANYONE know what's going on ?
Is a solution available ?

After years of doubting I installed the mediaplayer as my default player, and now everything is f.....-up !

*sigh*

I also seem be be getting this error after installing new 133 256 of RAM, Hard disk is ok, but no O/S will install anymore without error. XP/2000 comes up with some kind of HAL error, and 98 the above error. This may be a case of faulty memory, and in your case, just bad luck that you installed media player at that time.
