Outlook Express hangs up, then crashes HELP! Post a Reply
From: Carol on 08/14/2001
When I load Outlook Express, it looks just fine EXCEPT it won't open the INBOX, it just sits there with the timer. After a while it says OUTLOOK EXPRESS NOT RESPONDING and I have to click it down. I tried reinstalling IE5 like I did last time and it fixed the problem, but no go this time.

Any suggestions? I am ready to pull my hair out, I use my email for EBAY and work and need it badly.

I would tell you to email me with the solution, but hey, that's the problem!!!!!

Well, I have the same problem. The work around so far for me has been to check the box on the OE main screen [When Outlook Express starts, go directly to my Inbox]; then when I start OE I can get to my inbox. But, if I click another folder, I can't get back to my inbox unless I close & re-open OE. I have 3 identities on my OE and only one identity is having the problem. As soon as I export addresses and e-mails I'd like to keep, I will delete the identity and re-create the identity having the problem. I had no luck at Microsoft's technet.

I got the same stupid problem..I try and open outl;ook exprss Inbox and it just sits there and spins it's wheels..the same goes with other files I have attched to outlook..eg..Drafts and Sent and Deleted..I know I have a pile in there..however...why do they freeze up?

I did do the Add/Remove (twice) but makes no difference..I eventually tried to momitor my Invox and kep a minimum of 2 e-mails in there at once..but hey..it's christmas..and who can stop the mail?..Now it's froze yet again..any ideas how to keep MsOutlook Express from freezing all the time?

Thanks and would be MORE than happy to hear from you..Merry Christmas..
