My computer freezes unexpectedly when I am using
a program or internet. I have tried the Norton System
Doctor, but it happens anyway. What are the possible
reasons for this??? Please,help me. Thanks!

If you have windows 9x/Me try this: Click on Start; click on Run; type in 'sysedit' (no quotes); click on system.ini page of the folder; scroll down to the DISPLAY section; you should see a line that says 'display.drv=pnpdrvr.drv'-- if you don't, add it. This usually is a problem for people who upgrade from 3.1, but I found that line missing and I loaded win98 dead cold.Good Luck

This could be caused by many differant things. You may want to look into your memory and processor, they could be going down hill. It may be a heat issue, so check to make sure all of your case fans are running properly. If they are, try running the system with the case open and a fan blowing in on it. You may also just try reseating your motherboard connections, or pulling out differant pieces of hardware and running it to see if that resolves the issue. If you have a network card, pull it to see how it goes. There a ton of other things that could be causeing this, both hardware and software. If none of the above work, try ending task on everything in the back ground, then reload the operating system if necessary. If it still doesn't work I would then suggest replacing the Memory and then the processor if necessary.:

Sometimes freezing problems are software specific, but 90% of the time when our computers have freezing spells, its usually the power supply or processor going bad. You may want to try to replace one of them at a time and see if the problem goes away. I would also update your version of Internet Explorer, because that sometimes will resolve problems when you're on the internet.
