 Kernall32.dll Post a Reply
From: Mary on 12/07/2001
question : when checking my home e-mail in Outlook I get a illegal operation error it says kernall32.dll. . The message continues with If you are experiencing problems, restart you computer. Yestereday and this morning my computer repeatedly placed browser screens on my monitor and now it freezes when I turn on my computer. It also freezes when I am trying to scandisk for errors. In checking my dialog box, it noted tht neither my virus scan and filter were not responding. Do I have anything to worry about? Is this the beginning of a critical problem? Please respond to dmjjones@starpower.net

Kandi:

I would do a repair on Internet Explorer. You can do this by going to the add/remove programs applet in your control panel and finding Internet Explorer. You have the option to repair or uninstall IE. I would try the repair to see if I could find the conflicting dll version and replace it. If you are unsuccessful, I would completely uninstall IE and replace it with v6.0 (or your favorite version).

Hope this helps

Kernal32.dll is not a virus, but an essential file for your operating system. I don't know if you purposely spelled it with two l's in the 'Kernal' part. Maybe the file with two l's is a virus I haven't heard about.
If you are talking about the kernal32.dll file, it crashes all the time on my computer. I found a site that tells you about it, and what to do: http://www.hy-way.com/video/kernal32.htm
It seems to be an Adobe file that is screwing it up.
You might also go to updates.zdnet.com and they will scan your computer and tell you what updates your computer needs for free. If it says reboot between downloads, be sure to do it or you might corrupt the files.
Hope this helps.
