 system lock up with oe error Post a Reply

Im running windows 98se and I get a system OE error at 0028:00000005 when trying to start any cd. Cd will work in dos but causes system lock in windows. Only solution is to hard reboot as ctrl-alt-delete will not work. thank you

try reinstalling the operating system or repair the operating system.

You gave me very little information to work with.

The error message you are getting is due to a CDRW burning software driver issue/corruption or a driver problem with your particular CDROM. If you have a CDRW drive and software, reinstall the software for the drive. This usually fixes the problem.

If you do not have a CDRW drive, then you need to reinstall the CDROM driver.
