I'm running on a HP Pavilion, Windows ME, IE 6.0.The problem I'm having is when I go to launch IE 6 to surf the net a blue screen pops up with the following message: An error has occured, OE:017f bff9b3d4 Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this, and also what I must do to remedy this problem? I have had the same error 017f bbf9b3d4 it is something to do with Mcafee if you try to ctrl-alt-delete and end task mcafee programs without first disabling mcafee V-scan.after i disabled mcafee V-scan i had no problem i am using winME
when you restart your computer mcafee will reload

I'm running on a AMD Duron 1200pro with win 98 and I've got ten computer (all the same) that have same error in different program (winword, notepad, HP3535 driver, alunotify from symantec, etc. in different pc of course)always point to same direction, o17f:??????? 017f 0187 017 017 are numbers that appears in all error messages I have, thus I cannot run those programs. I thik it's an hardware problem perhaps video card problem. I think you must try run another internet browser.
One other solution will be find some way that allows not use that direction. I don't know if that is possible if someone can give me an answer please do it. (excuse me by my english it's bad)Bye

Dear Rob:
I have the exact same System you describe. My computer has become unstable and I am trying to Re-install Adaptec CD from the Software recovery disk that came with the computer in an effort to copy some of my important files to a back up disk before completely restoring the operating system, via the disks supplied. Before re-installing Adaptec I remove the running programs in my task bar, I then go to CNTR-Alt-DEl.and attempt to remove more programs that are running in the background. The moment I remove a program related to my MacaFee Virus Scan from the list, my computer comes up with the error message you describe. This is as much as I can tell you Rob, as I am not an expert. However, perhaps there is something in what I have told you that you may draw some conclusions or at least some information. Good-Luck.

Please let me know if you have Opera Beta installed. If so, I can point you to some ideas but there is not a defined solution to this.Otherwise, this error message is very similar to problems associated with video cards. In the mean time, I would try updating your video card driver to the newest available. Computerpilot

I'm getting the same error on my HP pavillion running windows me. Problem occurred when I purchased Secure ie from Mcafee, which is supposed to block pop up ads. Have you gotten any responses?

dont feel alone, i'm running on a HP Pavilion too with the same configuration as yours and i got the same error.All the problems began when i installed IE 6.0. i got problems with acrobat reader too.... the aplication acro32 freezes my system or acumulates in the running aplications.
